Eagle PR alum makes her mark with one of the top PR firms in the nation

Kelsie Gibbs graduated from Oklahoma Christian University in 2016 after working as the Events Coordinator for Eagle PR. She is now an Account Executive for Mitchell Communication in Fayetteville, Arkansas. One of her main clients is the largest private employer in the world, Walmart. Kelsie’s husband, Preston, is currently a graduate student at the University of Arkansas.  

Kelsie believes that the communications department at OC prepared her for the work she is doing now by training her to be well-rounded and flexible. She uses the principles she learned at OC almost every day. Kelsie believes OC and Eagle PR provided her with a complete skill set so she could be successful in any area she decides to go into.

Kelsie currently does more traditional PR work, but her day-to-day jobs are always changing. She writes media advisories, press releases, talks to reporters, plans events and more.

“The OC communications department prepared me for my career by showcasing the different aspects of the field,” said Gibbs. “I was fortunate to be able to be a part of the Eagle PR team and get a glimpse of agency life.”

The work that she did at OC has allowed her to jump in and succeed in her field. Kelsie gives wise encouragement to those who want to follow in her footsteps.

“I encourage anyone to take a chance and step out of their comfort zone,” said Gibbs. “Because I took a chance, I was able to find a job I truly love, work for a really cool company and have awesome clients.”
