Learning what PR is all about

For my second semester in Eagle PR, there were a lot of things I wanted to continue working toward. I wanted to continue to improve my writing skills and gain a deeper knowledge of public relations. This semester, my role as events coordinator was the part that I really enjoyed. I have always been a planner when it comes to things in my day-to-day life. I like to have a plan for my days, and I want to stick to that plan. Being an event planner is something I’ve thought about doing after graduation, whether that be for an organization or as a separate practice.

My position in Eagle PR helped me get a glimpse of what the profession is like and helped me realize that it is something that I really enjoy doing. I learned so much about all aspects of public relations this semester. The opportunity to be a part of the Up to Us campaign taught me a lot about each job that is involved in a campaign, not just my own. Eagle PR is helping me narrow down the specific area of public relations that I would want to work in before I get out in the real world, and I am so thankful for that. -Haleigh Evans
